The Founder and President of Sweetgum, Mr. Rob DeGraaf has managed projects nationwide for several decades and has a well-rounded background of public sector regulatory and private sector environmental consulting experience.  He is a Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) to conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and has Phase II experience including petroleum compounds, metals and other contaminants.

Mr. DeGraaf has overseen hundreds of Phase I and Phase II ESAs throughout the country.  Mr. DeGraaf completed a Phase I ESA for the 15-acre Amalie Arena property located in the Channelside District in Tampa, Florida, which included an assessment of the appx 450,000 sq ft building, comprehensive review of on-site facilities/ infrastructure, and over 100 years of history including manufacturing and shipping in the Channelside District.  Additional projects completed include wetland delineations, protected species (T&E) assessments, water quality monitoring: chemical and hydrobiological analyses, stream macroinvertebrate habitat assessments and sampling, and field taxonomy, and Stream Condition Index (SCI). Mr. DeGraaf has also conducted environmental impact assessments, and a wide variety of water quality monitoring projects to include freshwater (protocols for lakes, streams, wetlands, springs, confined and unconfined aquifers), and marine environments including estuarine sampling.
